Our Beginning Over the years, Shedd Park has been a wonderful green space for the citizens of Lowell, but some aspects of the park have become tired and outdated. The Friends of Shedd Park initially started through informal meetings of concerned neighbors. The spirit and energy of this group has grown into a cohesive band of members determined to direct their passion into promoting a family friendly environment at Shedd Park.  In late September of 2005, this group decided to take the name of Friends of Shedd Park and has begun a campaign to build awareness of this organization and its mission.  In December of 2005, FOSP gained 501(3)(c) non-profit status by teaming with Community Teamwork, Inc. to help achieve our mission.
